Discover the secrets of professional ski tuning as our experienced technicials maintain and fine-tune your skis for optimal performance and safety. From edge sharpening and base repair to waxing techniques, we cover it all.
Proper maintenance through tuning extends the life of your skis, saving you money in the long run. A well-tuned ski is not only more enjoyable to ride but also safer, reducing the risk of accidents on the mountain.
Sustainability @ The Tuning Workshop
In the last few years Rhythm has made a lot of effort to minimise our footprint on the planet, from the Future waxing method that eliminates around 90% of the scraped wax that was going to landfill, to the filtration systems on our tuning machines that collect plastic micro particles that used to go in our water.
Quick wax? Back on the road in five minutes. Full tune, base grind, restructure, edge and wax? Twenty-five minutes. Major repairs, binding mounts, race preparation, or just excellent advice from year-round professionals who love their sport? Priceless.
Why Does My Equipment Need Maintenance
To perform on the snow, all gear needs regular maintenance. This will also help your skis or snowboard to last longer and keep you safe on the mountain. How much time you spend on the mountain will determine how regularly you need to visit the workshop.
Our ski and snowboard workshop offers three main maintenance services:
Waxing - applying a coat to the base of your skis to keep them sliding well and protecting them from damage
Edging - sharpening the sides of your board or skis to give you plenty of grip while carving
Base grinding - basically flattening out the bottom of your skis or snowboard for a smoother ride. Say goodbye to the nasty rock gashes!
We also offer tuning packages that combine waxing, edging and grinding to give you the best ride.Â
Is your wax environmentally friendly?Â
In the last few years, Rhythm has made a lot of effort to minimise our footprint on the planet, from the Future waxing method that eliminates around 90% of the scraped wax that was going to landfill, to the filtration systems on our tuning machines that collect plastic micro-particles that used to go in our water. We also sell and can apply the new single lifetime application Phantom treatment from DPS.Â
How often should I get my skis waxed?
This depends on how often you use your skis (or snowboard) however if you’re doing long, full days on the mountain you probably want to get them waxed roughly every 5 days.Â
Remember, if you purchased your skis or board from Rhythm Snowsports they’re eligible to be waxed for free for life!
How long does waxing or tuning take?
Just a wax? We’ll have them ready in five minutes.
Full tune, base grind, restructure, edge and wax? Twenty-five minutes.Â
Major repairs, binding mounts, race preparation, or just excellent advice from year-round professionals who love their sport? A little longer, but it’s hard to put a price on that!
We recommend you drop your gear straight to the workshop when you arrive as many people can be looking for ski and snowboard tunes or waxes at the same time.
